There are books out there called the figure; the figure in motion; the figure in deep perspective; the figure in 101 improbable-but-aesthetically-pleasing-in-a-euclidean-sense poses, etc. etc. etc. Where the hell is the book called "the figure doing ordinary things that everyday people do on a regular basis?" THAT's the book I want.

This one isn't bad. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1555215068/qid=1104028485/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/104-7067204-1567127?v=glance&s=books) I have it, and while the faces part isn't useful, the hands part is (ironing, opening cans, writing, typing, etc.). It doesn't have the full figure, though.

I found a ton of pose reference books at anime conventions that are really helpful for drawing comics... if that's the type of thing you're looking for. (This is what I'm talking about. (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/k4wlW6cIyAV5oYPFrm/browse/item/57013/4/643/120) Don't let the cover scare you away, I've flipped through them and the inside is just a lot of line drawings of people doing normal stuff, you can sort of see examples of what I mean on the cover.)

Next time you go out anywhere, watch people with an eye towards using them later in drawings. Usually, we don't get much out of that because we tend to look but not observe the details so that's good practice in observation skills.
